Our strong safety record is the result of proactive planning, continuous training, and a company-wide commitment to executing projects safely and efficiently. To support this commitment, Lyon has established an experienced Safety Committee, developed and implemented a comprehensive Safety Manual, and ensured that all Project Managers and Job Superintendents receive OSHA 30-Hour Certification training.

Industry-Leading Safety Programs

Lyon Contracting is proud to be a Diamond-level participant in the ABC STEP (Safety Training Evaluation Process) Program. This nationally recognized safety program provides a structured framework for evaluating, improving, and strengthening our safety and loss prevention practices. Through STEP, we continually analyze performance and implement strategies that help reduce incident rates and Days Away, Restricted, or Transferred (DART) rates.

In addition, Lyon Contracting actively participates in the Minnesota OSHA Cooperative Compliance Partnership, a collaborative effort between Minnesota OSHA, Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), and Lyon Contracting. The partnership is designed to enhance jobsite safety and reduce workplace injuries through education, communication, and accountability.

As part of this program, monthly jobsite safety walks are conducted with representatives from Minnesota OSHA, ABC, Lyon Contracting project leadership, and subcontractor partners. These reviews help identify potential hazards, reinforce best practices, and ensure safety remains at the forefront of every project.
