Safety

Lyon Contracting, Inc. has always maintained a strong commitment to health and safety for the protection of our employees and clients. Lyon’s health and safety records are a direct result of a commitment to executing projects in a safe and effective manner. Lyon has also assembled an experienced Safety Committee, developed and implemented a Safety Manual, and provided all of our Project Managers and Job Superintendents OSHA 30 Hour Certification training to ensure that this commitment is maintained and continuously improved.

Lyon Contracting is a platinum member of the Accredited Associated Builders and Contractors STEP Program.

Lyon Contracting is a Platinum member of the Accredited ABC STEP program. The benefit of the STEP program presents us with an opportunity to provide an organized approach to our current safety program in an effort to analyze and further develop our safety and loss prevention program. The STEP program also supplies us with the tools to reduce our company’s incidence rates and days away, restricted or transferred (DART) rates.

In addition to the STEP program, Lyon Contracting enrolls our projects in the Minnesota OSHA Cooperative Compliance Partnership. The partnership between MN OSHA, ABC and Lyon Contracting is intended to increase safety practices on all of our jobsites with the goal to reduce or eliminate work related health issues and injuries. One component of the partnership is to conduct a monthly safety walk with MN OSHA representative, an ABC Safety representative, the Lyon Project Manager, the Lyon Job Superintendent and a foreman from each subcontractor onsite to review and address jobsite safety concerns. This partnership is a key part of keeping “Safety First” in everything we do.
